1. It's All about Me: Part 1

Entertaining Food

This programme is about a professional chef called Elaine Day and her company Entertaining Food. If you have access to a computer, you can show students the company website: www.entertainingfood.com

In the UK there are many catering companies who prepare food for special events and parties. Nowadays, there are more and more people who use catering companies for dinner parties at home.

2. Life Swap: Part 1

Helping at home

This Life Swap is about two 15-year-olds (Daniel Webber and Katie Porter) who live each others' lives for the day. Katie and Daniel are both at school, but spend their free time in different ways. Katie helps a lot at home and Daniel works in a hairdressing salon. In this programme, we see what happens when Daniel visits Katie's home and helps out with the housework.

3. The Mag

Cromer Lifeboat Station

This episode of The Mag is about the lifeboat station in Cromer, on the east coast of England. The two presenters, Isaac and Rakhee, spend the day with the lifeboad mechanic, Paul Watling, learning about its history and the challenges the lifeboat crew face.

The RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) is a charitable organisation which provides help for people in danger at sea. Lifeboat crews are mostly volunteers who give up their own time to help others. For further information go to:

4. Life Swap: Part 2

Hairdressing

Life Swap: Part 2 continues the story of Daniel Webber and Katie Porter. This time Katie spends the day trying to do Daniel's job as an assistant in a hairdressing salon.

In Britain, it's common for teenagers to have part-time jobs that they do in the school holidays, at the weekends, or a few evenings after school.

5. It's All About Me: Part 2

The dinner party

It's All About Me: Part 2 is the second part of a day in the life of Elaine Day, chef and owner of Entertaining Food. This programme sees her prepare and give a dinner party in a customer's home. Catering companies are becoming increasingly popular in the UK for professional people who don't have time or don't enjoy cooking themselves.

6. The Mag

The 2012 Olympic Games

The presenters of The Mag, Isaac and Rakhee, talk to Lucy Webster, who works for the London Development Agency, to find out how London is getting ready to host the Olympic Games in 2012. 7. The Hub: Part 1

Leon annoys people

The Hub: Part 1 focuses on Leon as he pursues his chance to do a dance solo. Unfortunately, Leon starts to annoy quite a lot of people. His friends try to warn him about his behaviour, but the programme ends with Leon discovering that he is the only person not invited to Fran and Julie's party.

8. The Hub: Part 2

Leon leaves

The Hub: Part 2 continues the story of Leon's dilemmas within the dance group. In Part 1 Leon became increasingly unpopular because of his overconfidence and loud behaviour. Part 2 sees Leon leave the dance group and reflect upon his behaviour. He returns to help Rachel with her dancing and finds a new place among the group as a dance assistant.
