Ben Jonson Online

This digital edition of The Cambridge Edition of the Works of Ben Jonson offers a fully searchable modern spelling text, arrayed in conjunction with old-spelling transcriptions of the textual witnesses and digital images of the early printed books and the most important manuscripts from which the text is derived. These key primary materials are delivered via a best-in-class text viewing and comparison tool. Alongside this body of material, the edition offers a collection of large-scale documentary and contextual archival materials, together with essays analysing the text and interpreting its history and reception.

In all, the complete Online Edition contains around 100 old-spelling texts and 500 contextual documents, plus over 80 essays, several hundred high quality images, a database digesting 500 documented performances of the plays, over 100 music scores (with midi capable audio), a dynamic timeline of Jonson’s Chronology, and a fully cross-linked bibliography comprising just under 7,000 items.

The Dictionary of Irish Biography is a collaborative project between Cambridge University Press and the Royal Irish Academy, available in print and online, involving 700 contributors and spanning 9,000 lives. The Dictionary is an indispensable reference work for Ireland. It includes the lives of Irish men and women who made a significant contribution in Ireland and abroad, as well as those born overseas who had noteworthy careers in Ireland – from James Ussher to James Joyce, St Patrick to Patrick Pearse, St Brigit to Maud Gonne MacBride, Shane O’Neil to Eamon de Valera, Edward Carson to Bobby Sands. The Dictionary will put their lives into every major library in the world and on the shelves of scholars, journalists, teachers, broadcasters, diplomats and general readers. Lectrix
Lectrix is a powerful online tool designed to help students read Greek and Latin texts in the original language by providing them with all the information required actively to understand a text at the click of a mouse, including commentaries, dictionary, parser and translation. Four Greek and four Latin texts are on offer. The main focus of the interface is on the text, which is complemented by a range of study tools including a dictionary, a grammatical parser, an English translation, basic and advanced commentaries, and a library of web pages with background material on grammar and context.
Orlando
Orlando is a comprehensive electronic database relating to women's writing in the British Isles. It offers a wealth of biographical and critical information on more than 1200 writers, together with entries on literary and historical events. The database offers entries on authors' lives and writing careers, contextual material, timelines, internal links and bibliographies. Entries are tagged, enabling searches to focus not only on author, date and place but also on such issues as genre, intertextuality, and relations with publishers.
