Cambridge English for Polish Schools

Cambridge English for Polish Schools is a four-level course for Polish primary schools, specially adapted from Cambridge English for Schools, for students starting English at the age of 10 or 11. It is registered by the Ministry of National Education on the list of recommended coursebooks Nr 136/99. Its syllabus design proceeds in line with curriculum requirements for the new primary school system, and is fully consistent with the language learning objectives identified in the work of The Council of Europe.

The course features:
  • content and concepts which reflect students' own lives, interests and studies
  • an approach which is effective with mixed-ability classes
  • a clearly structured, active approach to grammar
  • regular revision and evaluation
  • integrated project work, including the unique 'Parcel of English' scheme
  • learner choice, decision-making and autonomy
  • audio-cassettes to accompany all 4 levels
  • two video cassettes.
Special features of Cambridge English for Polish Schools:
  • each level provides 60 to 80 teaching hours with a possibility of extending the course
  • all levels contain an English - Polish wordlist
  • level 1 is appropriate for complete beginners of English, with all instructions and grammar explanations in Polish
  • levels 1 and 2 of the Teacher's Book are in Polish (levels 3 and 4 are in English)
  • both the classroom and the practice units are contained in one book.
