Advanced Information

The authentic texts are adapted from a variety of sources, including newspapers, magazines, books, and websites. These texts increase gradually in length and difficulty as students progress through each book in the series.

A helpful icon on each reading page indicates the original source type of the text.
Each one-page reading is accompanied by a page of activities that build important reading skills and offer opportunities for discussion and/or writing.

Reading tips provide students with a useful language point that is illustrated in the reading and that corresponds to a reading skill on the opposite page.

For each reading, there is one Scanning or Skimming exercise. In this exercise, students scan or skim a text to look for specific information before reading the whole text.
