There are two great Videos/DVDs to accompany Messages. Each pack comes with a booklet containing activity worksheets for each programme and explanatory teacher's notes. Full video scripts are also provided.
Messages Video for levels 1–2 contains a series of eight drama sequences following the story of two friends, Emily and Paul, as they attempt to make a short prize-winning film about life in the UK. The sequences are lively and entertaining and include a variety of locations: from Florida in the USA to the London Eye and the popular UK seaside resort of Brighton.
Messages Video for levels 3–4 contains a collection of eight programmes based around a teenage TV series, Get the Message, presented by Jo and Steven. All programmes include a documentary sequence covering topics as diverse as sailing on a Tall Ship from Portsmouth, England to a charity motorcycle Toy Run in Florida, USA.
Both videos can be used in conjunction with Messages or with other lower-secondary courses of the appropriate level.
